Profhilo is a revolutionary injectable treatment designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and overall quality. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo is not used for adding volume or contouring the face but rather to enhance the skin’s natural glow and texture by deeply hydrating it.
Botulinum toxin is a highly purified neurotoxin derived from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. When injected into targeted muscles, it blocks nerve signals, temporarily preventing muscle contraction. This leads to a reduction in the appearance of unwanted facial wrinkles, particularly those caused by repeated facial expressions, known as “expressive wrinkles.”
Polynucleotides are natural DNA fragments used to promote skin regeneration, hydration, and repair. By stimulating fibroblasts, they enhance collagen and elastin production, improving skin elasticity, texture, and overall health. Derived from fish DNA, polynucleotides closely mimic human DNA, making them a safe, biocompatible solution for rejuvenating skin, reducing fine lines, and restoring volume.

As a minimally invasive procedure, most clients can resume normal activities soon after treatment, though temporary redness, swelling, or minor bruising at the injection site can occur. Serious complications are extremely rare, but we always assess your full health history to minimise risks. Our treatments are suitable for most skin types.
What are injectables, and how do they work?
Injectables are non-surgical treatments that involve several injections of substances like botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, or calcium hydroxylapatite into the skin to address concerns such as wrinkles, volume loss, and poor skin tone. They work by either relaxing facial muscles or enhancing collagen and elastin to promote smoother, firmer skin.
What is the difference between botox and dermal filler treatments?
Botox injections use botulinum toxin to relax muscles and reduce dynamic facial wrinkles like frown lines, while dermal fillers (typically made from hyaluronic acid) are injected to add volume, retain moisture, and smooth fine lines caused by aging or sun damage.
What is Profhilo and how does Profhilo work?
Profhilo treatment delivers intense hydration by injecting pure hyaluronic acid beneath the surface of the skin. Unlike fillers, it doesn’t add volume but instead stimulates natural collagen production and elastin production, improving skin tone, texture, and elasticity over the course of two treatments.
Are there any side effects or risks associated with injectable treatments?
Most patients experience mild effects such as temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. While more serious side effects such as allergic reactions, vision problems, or complications due to neurological conditions or other health conditions are extremely rare, your full health history is reviewed during your pre-treatment consultation to ensure safety.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
You may notice improvements in fine lines and wrinkles within a few days of treatment, with maximum effect typically visible within 1–2 weeks. Depending on the type of injectable, results can last from 3 months (e.g., botox) to over 12 months (e.g., dermal filler treatment or Profhilo), especially when maintained as part of a consistent regimen at Derma Lab Clinic.
